The Tony Awards Nominations 2024
The Tony Awards nominators didn't have much time this year.
The Tony Awards are the most prestigious awards in American theater. This year, the nominations were announced on April 30, 2024, just nine days after the last of the 12 Broadway shows opened. This was the shortest amount of time that the nominators have had to make their decisions in recent history.
Hells Kitchen and Stereophonic Rise to the Top
Despite the short amount of time that the nominators had, they were able to come up with a strong list of nominees. The musical "Hells Kitchen" and the play "Stereophonic" led the way with 11 nominations each. Other strong contenders included "The Book of Mormon" (9 nominations), "Pippin" (8 nominations), and "Kinky Boots" (7 nominations).
The Tony Awards will be presented on June 9, 2024. The ceremony will be hosted by James Corden.
